July 4 fireworks over Broken Bow Lake. Hochatown is festive. Hochatown restaurants, the distillery tasting room, and the Beavers Bend trailheads all run on their normal schedule this month, so a July weekend can be as full or as slow as you want it.
Friday: arrive after work, drop groceries, and spend the first night in the hot tub. Saturday: an early Beavers Bend hike or a lake morning, lunch in Hochatown, an afternoon at the distillery or the game room, then a fire pit after dinner. Beyond that: swimsuits for the hot tub year-round, water shoes for the creek and the lake, one warm layer, and groceries. The nearest full-size store is about twenty minutes south of the cabins, so most guests shop before they arrive.
