Thanksgiving in Broken Bow: the underrated best time to book a cabin

Thanksgiving in Broken Bow: the underrated best time to book a cabin

Thanksgiving weekend in Broken Bow is quieter than October, cheaper than Christmas, and one of our favorite weeks of the year to host.

Most people book Broken Bow for October or Christmas week. Thanksgiving falls in between and gets overlooked — which is exactly why it's the sneakiest good week of the year to visit.

WHY IT WORKS Crowds thin out after peak color. Weather is crisp (highs in the 50s, lows in the 30s — cold enough for the hot tub to feel amazing). Restaurants are open. Beavers Bend is nearly empty.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT THANKSGIVING DINNER Option 1: Cook it in the cabin. Most Hochatown cabins have full kitchens and grills. Bring a spatchcocked turkey and pre-made sides — done in 90 minutes. Option 2: Adam & Eve's does a Thanksgiving buffet (book weeks ahead). Option 3: Order a pre-cooked meal from Hochatown Smokehouse.

WHAT'S OPEN Mountain Fork Brewery: usually open Wed and Fri, closed Thu. Grateful Head: check hours the week of. Grocery: Walmart in Broken Bow proper is open Thanksgiving morning until noon.

Skip the fees. Book direct.

Check live availability for both cabins and save up to 18% vs Airbnb. Use code PINES10 for 10% off your first direct stay.

BOOKING WINDOW Book by early October for the best cabins. Direct rates are about 15% lower than OTA rates and cancellation windows are more flexible if plans shift.

WHO IT'S FOR Multi-generational family gatherings (a 4–6 bedroom cabin with a big kitchen is perfect). Couples wanting a quiet reset. Anyone whose in-laws are hosting somewhere they'd rather not be.
