Broken Bow vs Beavers Bend: what's the difference?

Half the people who plan a trip here type 'Beavers Bend cabins' and the other half type 'Broken Bow cabins.' They usually mean the same trip. Here's the actual breakdown.

Broken Bow is the lake, the small town, and the broader destination. Broken Bow Lake is the 14,000-acre reservoir. Broken Bow (the town) is 8 miles south of the lake — that's where you grocery shop and gas up.

Beavers Bend is the state park. Beavers Bend State Park wraps around the south end of Broken Bow Lake and includes the dam, the Mountain Fork River below the dam, the Forest Heritage Center, hiking trails, campgrounds, and the trout-fishing area. It's the recreation hub.

Hochatown is the unincorporated community on the north and west side of Broken Bow Lake, where almost every short-term rental cabin actually sits, plus most of the restaurants and breweries.
